    What Are Colored Lashes?

As the name suggests, colored lashes are vibrant, flamboyant, and of course, colorful! In our opinion, they are a must-have lash treatment for summer; they’re perfect for music festivals, concerts, or any event honestly - who doesn’t want a splash of color every now and then? We know many Lash Techs tend to shy away from colored lashes, and we get it, many clients aren’t into them, but what about the ones who are? There are still a lot of clients out there who would love fiery red spikes that spice up a set of wet look lashes, or a captivating tropical blue and green ombre in a set of wispy mega volume lash extensions. Don’t deny your clients the opportunity to express themselves in a fun and vibrant way!

Dissimilar to black or brown synthetic lashes, colored lashes contain bright pigments that result in an eye-catching and picturesque appearance. Regardless of whether you love or hate them, you can’t deny that colored eyelash extension sets are incredible to look at, and they’ll be even more exciting to create. At London Lash we offer an array of stunning Synthetic Colored Lashes in a variety of thicknesses and curls, there are so many options to choose from, your clients will be spoilt for choice!

How To Create Colored Eyelash Extensions

    Solid Color

Solid-colored lash sets are not for the faint of heart - they’re bold, and fierce. These lashes are perfect for clients who are the life of the party, don’t mind being the center of attention (especially on a dancefloor), and love to embrace their own personal style. Having a solid color, or a mixture of colors along the lash line, provides an unmissable look. You can apply these gorgeous lashes in whichever eyelash extension style you choose, and will be no different to applying regular black lashes. These lash extensions are also perfect for themed events - your clients will be receiving compliments left right and center!

Top Tip: Use a clear eyelash glue to ensure a seamless blend.

    Intermittent Spikes

Intermittent spikes are an excellent way to incorporate some color into the ever so popular textured wispy hybrid lash set. Don’t get it twisted, you could add some radiant spikes into classic eyelash extensions or mega volume lash extensions too. Our range of colored lashes includes 0.15 lashes for classic sets and 0.07 lashes for volume fans up to 5D - you can pop them in any set you desire! You have the ability to create those wispy eyelash extensions that everyone is going crazy for, and we’re sure 99% of your clientele have come to you asking for them.

To create intermittent spikes, begin with mapping your clients’ lashes depending on their face shape and their preferences. Once you have done this, take your lash mapping pen and map out where you want your spikes to go. We recommend keeping your spikes at regular intervals to ensure the lash line looks even. Try to add spikes to the top and bottom layers of your client’s lashes, as this will ensure the lashes will look their best for longer, and when a lash falls out naturally, there won’t be a noticeable gap. Gorgeous, spiky, and textured lashes - they’re a dream come true!

    A Subtle Top Line

A playful way to introduce colored lashes into a lash set, is to apply the colored lashes only to the top layer. This will result in a bright lash look when your client has their eyes closed, and when they open them, it will appear as if they have a colorful lash line but with a regular set of lashes. Don't be afraid to get creative! You can experiment with the lengths of the lashes for the top layer if your client is happy to let you. If you apply a length longer than the middle layer, you’ll be able to visually see more of the colored lashes over the rest, but if you use the same length of lash, you’ll only see the very tip of them.

    A Pop Of Color

If you’ve got a client who’s a bit wary of colored eyelash extensions but still wants to try them out, this style is your best bet. You can use this method of applying colored lashes to be as bold or as subtle as your client wishes. To create a bespoke eyelash extension set with a burst of color, you’ll need to apply a section of colored lashes near the outer corner of the eye. To make sure that your lash set doesn’t appear to have gaps if you're applying a lighter tone, we suggest applying the colored lashes in front of the darker lashes to make them pop. To do this, add your darker lashes to the top layer of the natural lashes, if not the top, and then add them to the middle layer. This will make the colored lashes really stand out!

    Ombre Effect

To create an ombre effect you are essentially designing a perfect blend of color - it’ll be a true showstopper of a lash set! You can achieve this effect by using similar tones of color, which will result in a seamless set that blends together on the eye - our mixed lash trays are perfect for this technique as each one features two complementary shades. Similar to the other styles, you are still going to work with the different layers of lashes, but instead with two colors. Once you have mapped out your lashes, you’ll need to decide where you want your colored lashes to be placed. On the bottom layer of the lashes, we suggest using a lighter shade here, but it’s entirely up to you! On the middle layer, you would add your second color of lashes, increasing the length of them by 1mm, or more, so that you can see both layers of lashes when your client opens their eyes.

An ombre effect is so fun to play with and offers an endless amount of looks - a contrasting good vs evil inspired look, a pastel-colored spring set, or a cool-toned snow queen silver and baby blue extravaganza. The world is your oyster!

If you love ombre lashes, and rather than strategically placing regular colored lashes, you'd prefer to have Ombre Lashes throughout the entire last set, we have a solution! Introducing our NEW Ombre Lashes! These gorgeous lash extensions are available in three two-tone ombre colors: pink, blue, and violet. Each Ombre lash tray features an intense black base that smoothly transitions into a vibrant colored tip, for an extra pop of colour! Learn more about ombre lashes here!
