Take a Break: Why Scheduling Gaps Between Clients Benefits You and Your Business

We get it—squeezing in back-to-back clients and making the most of every minute can be super tempting. But what if we told you that not giving yourself any breathing room between clients might actually be doing more harm than good?

Here are four great reasons why leaving at least ten minutes between clients is a game-changer:

    Get Moving

First up, you need to stretch those legs and move around a bit. Even if you start each lash set with perfect posture, you’re probably ending up hunched over, squinting at those tiny bottom eyelash extensions or cat eye lashes. Taking a quick break between appointments to stretch and walk around can do wonders for how you feel at the end of the day. Trust us, it’ll help you stay comfortable and keep your career in lash tech going strong.

    Fix Up, Look Sharp

This one’s all about giving your lash trolley a quick refresh. Use this time to toss out any used disposables, clean your eyelash tweezers, and make sure everything you need, like your eyelash extension kit and lash supplies, is neatly laid out and ready to go. If your bin’s full, at least change the bag and hide it if you can’t get rid of it right away. A quick wipe-down of surfaces will keep things looking fresh and clean. For regular clients, you can even prep their classic lashes or hybrid eyelash extensions during this time.

    Rest and Recharge

Take a breather away from your workstation. Grab a drink and a snack to keep your energy up and avoid that embarrassing stomach growl during your client’s session! Staying hydrated and well-fed will help keep you alert and energized. Plus, giving your eyes a break from focusing on those tiny details, whether you’re working on volume lash extensions or classic lash extensions, will help prevent strain.

    Prepare for the Unexpected

Life happens—sometimes clients arrive late, or their lashes need more work than you expected. Having that extra 10-15 minute buffer between appointments means you won’t have to rush or cut corners if things don’t go as planned. It helps you stay calm and keeps your clients happy, whether they’re going for colored lash extensions or wispy hybrid lashes.

So, while those fifteen minutes might seem like they’re not doing much, they’re actually crucial for keeping you comfortable, relaxed, and your schedule running smoothly. Give yourself that buffer—you’ll thank yourself later!
